BREAKING: Election Workers Quit Kenosha Polling Place
By: Brian Sikma
Kenosha, WI – Sources are reporting that Kenosha Ward 34 experienced some hiccups this morning that slowed down voting and created a wait lasting up to 45 minutes. Apparently, several individuals that were scheduled to work the ward’s poll for today’s recall election in Senate District 22 decided to call the chief election officer of the location late last night and say they couldn’t work the polls today. Frustrated with this response, the chief election official decided to call it quits for the day.
With the top poll worker absent and others refusing to work, Ward 34, which is reported to have an unusually high 12,000 residents (not registered voters) opened very slowly. A handful of poll workers were brought in from other locations to man the posts that were vacant and by noon all appeared to be moving along smoothly. The confusion was significant enough to call for an appearance by Kenosha City Clerk Mike Higgins who worked to make sure that the location was able to implement some sort of plan to remedy the massive backlog.
Ward 34 went for Kloppenburg in the Spring judicial election and for Walker last November. It is comprised of many newly expanded subdivisions and residential areas and is slated to be redrawn for the next election due to its overly high number of residents.

This seems to be a tactic. The Dems set this district up to have a “problem”..later this evening they will ask a judge to extend the hours at this site. In which case the left will fill busloads of people who will show up in line before the time. and they will vote in the names of people who haven’t yet voted in this district! Shameful!

More fleebagging, I see. That seems to be a typical liberal tactic — if you can’t steal an election, thwart the other guy.

Possibly realizing a loss for the incumbent, they are just copying the tactic similar to leaving the state to avoid a legal process. Now the election can be protested and scheduled to be redone thus frustrating and causing enormous cost to the real democratic process.

Leaving the state was a democratic practice. Ended up some repub senators were none too happy with the blank bill they wanted to pass. Democratic practices generally include transparency and voter input.

Given the law requires clerks to staff the polls with a near even number of poll workers from both parties it would be interesting to know which workers actually no-showed and there party affiliation. Is an update possible?

If you are dedicated to media accountability, government transparency & quality fact-based journalism as you state then I would like to invite you to join me in assuring that our elections are free and fair. I am a programmer and I do not believe that there is any way to assure a free and fair elections with computers utilized to count the votes. I would like the State to change our voting to a paper ballot with citizens from both parties counting them. I would like our processes to assure that ballots bags that were sealed by the election officials and are later found opened no plausible explanations have mandatory investigation with consequences for the responsible party. I would like to assure that the chain of custody is maintained and if it is not that an investigation is done and once again the responsible party should have consequences such as being removed from a position of public trust. This must be a bipartisan effort or citizens will not have faith in our system, as many of us do not now. There is no reason to continue to use computers that are so easy to manipulate. Utilizing computers also adds many added expenses to the election process, buying the voting machines, buying the software, maintenance of the hardware, upgrades to software, training of the operators, electricity to run the machines & costly hand recounts. All of this can be avoided if we simply go to a hand count. I believe that anyone who believes that their candidates truly represent the people and believe in a truly democratic system would not have a problem with hand counting our votes. I do not understand the resistance that volunteers trying to assure that the votes are counted correctly have been receiving. The machines are not having any real quality control procedures performed that actually verify the vote. Any takers?

If you really want to see who is writing your legislation I suggest you look at ALEC Exposed your Republican elected officials are having their legislation handed to them by corporations that don’t care about you, Wisconsin or the United States. The corporations are selling the whole country out to Multinational Corporations & Communist China. Liberals are not communists or Fascist. We may have a bent towards more socialism – meaning we care about other people but we’re not even into true socialism which is where no one owns anything. I like my house, my car and other things I worked for but I also care about living in a caring and compassionate society that cares about our air, land, water & people. Business does not have a heart and should not be in our government. What is wrong with our government who takes care of our roads, nuclear power plants, social programs, does research and development in all of the sciences that corporations benefit from has a place. It seems as if many people forget what their place is and isn’t. The government protects people against business interests that can just roll over all of us if they are not kept in check. Business and money have infiltrated our government and put poison pills in legislation effecting agencies & programs. Once these work their way through they point at the program or agency and say see it’s terrible let’s get rid of it. I am trying to appeal to readers here as Americans to see the truth, investigate and take action with your fellow Americans of all walks of life and bring our Nation back to the great Nation it once was, destroying our government is not the answer. Think about who is going to take care of the Nuclear power plants that can kill us if we don’t pay attention to them soon. They are nearing the end of their lifespan and the corporations that made money on them won’t take the responsibility. The government needs to be put back into the hands of the people not the corporations that have sold us out to communist China. Think about it radiation does not care what party you or your family belongs to , it also does not care about skin color, sexual orientation, social status, age or gender. Radiation is an equal opportunity killer. If we don’t pull together as a country and people we will surely die together as a country and people. Think about it, end the hate. People first, corporations are not people no matter what the Citizens United Decision of the Supreme court says.

Hey Ckmd , go take your comments to another page. The people of Kenosha County who have kept their minds do not need to hear your class warfare garbage. Go take it to the union hall across the street on Highway 50.
