Wisconsin Democratic Congressman Mark Pocan gave credit on Twitter last week to a coalition of liberal groups for an action taken by Republican President Donald J. Trump.

Trump last week signed an executive action to withdraw from the negotiating process of the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Trump’s campaign included a promise to withdraw the US from the Pacific trade deal, commonly known as TPP, which he argued was harmful to American workers and manufacturing. Trump’s position on TPP and other trade agreements puts him at odds with conservative orthodoxy on trade issues.
Pocan makes a passing reference to Trump but makes no mention of the fact that it was a Republican president who took the action he was praising. That said, it’s unlikely that the constituencies Pocan praises; labor unions, human rights organizations, environmental and consumer advocacy groups supported Trump. There is also no indication their actions impacted Trump’s thinking or actions on the issue.
