MEDIA TRACKERS: CO SENATE DEMS SHILLING FOR OBAMACARE WITH UNION BILL

Watchdog Group Known for Revealing Media Bias, Corrupt Politicians Sets Sights on Colorado with New Operation

Colorado Springs, CO…May 9, 2012 – Media Trackers, the conservative non-profit, non-partisan investigative watchdog group that made national headlines last year exposing union tactics and media bias during the Wisconsin budget fight, has announced its expansion into Colorado. The group, dedicated to promoting accountability in the media and government, will maintain offices in Colorado Springs and deploy staff throughout the state.

Media Trackers Colorado (MTC) hasn’t wasted any time getting started promoting accountability. Over the past several weeks, Media Trackers exposed Colorado Senate Democrats’ ties to Big Labor, and their bungling attempt to promote Obamacare by giving preferences in State contracts to unions who provide health coverage under the President’s national healthcare program.

When the bill’s sponsors were questioned by Media Trackers about the effect Obamacare waivers would have on the bidding preferences, Senate Democrats Evie Hudak (D-SD19) and Bob Bacon (D-SD14), apparently caught flatfooted by the oversight, had no answers. Media Trackers Colorado (MTC) also exposed union money ties to various Senate Democrats who have voted to protect Big Labor and teachers’ unions, including Senator Hudak and Senator Bacon.

“This is either a ham-handed way to promote the national healthcare agenda or another union giveaway during an election year,” states Aaron Gardner of Media Trackers Colorado. “We will be tracking the monetary ties and influence at the State Capitol and other stories exposing corruption, bias and incompetence on both sides of the political spectrum in an effort to improve accountability here in Colorado.”

“We’re very excited about the opportunity to expand our operation into Colorado,” said Drew Ryun, president of Media Trackers. “Our revealing investigations have helped drive national attention to issues of great public concern. In Wisconsin, we’ve changed the debate and set a new standard for unapologetic, factual reporting. We are dedicated to bringing that same standard and passion for the truth to Colorado.”

Media Trackers uses investigative research and plain facts to force transparency through a variety of methods. The group aims to challenge the way news is reported and the way government institutions operate.
