Did Wisconsin Jobs Now! Executive Director Make $100K At SEIU?
By Collin Roth
Wisconsin Jobs Now! Executive Director Michael Lauer reportedly made $98,517 working as Deputy Organizing Director for SEIU in 2010. His total compensation package was worth $108,943 according to SEIU’s LM-2 report with the U.S. Department of Labor.
During Lauer’s time with SEIU, he organized protests against M&I Bank during the budget battle. He may still be employed by the SEIU given that in the GAB complaint Wisconsin Jobs Now! filed on Thursday against Alberta Darling and other groups, Lauers email address was listed as firstname.lastname@example.org. In June, Lauer was filmed at a listening session for Republican Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner, railing against tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations.
Wisconsin Jobs Now! describes itself as “a coalition of community groups, neighborhood associations, faith based organizations and labor united in an effort to bring good jobs to Wisconsin now.” The organization was recently embroiled in a “BBQ For Votes” scandal whereby free BBQ and raffle prizes were given to voters who took free rides to the polls to vote early.
